My wife and I have been calling her our little princess or our babygirl for the past 16 years and we've been trying to look for some non-binary nicknames that we can use on our darling.
Some things that we've tried are:
- our child --> seems kind of impersonal? not sweet enough?
-our baby --> eh? seems boring
-our precious --> reminds me too much of Gollum from Lord of the Rings (LOTR)....
Any of suggestions?
Hi James! I'm not non-binary but some of the awesome nicknames I've seen the past are:
Captain
Anything mythical like our precious elf/druid (especially if your child is into DND [Dungeons and Dragons])
The Fruit of our loins
If anything ask your child! They'll probably give you an awesome nickname that they'd like but I understand wanting to create one because it feels more special that way.
Furthermore, is your child okay with still being called your daughter? Daughter is gendered language and some non-binary people are uncomfortable with it.
